About “Living My Best life With Alisa”

Living My Best Life” began with my best friend, Raphael Sinclair Rogers, at Lite Of Jericho Missionary Baptist Church.

I met him at Gateway Elementary School in St. Louis, MO, in 2015. At the time, I was a substitute teacher, and he was a music teacher. Raphael would send me good morning GIFs, Betty Boop videos, and music videos at night. In return, I would send him long stories, poems, and paintings I created. His usual response was “WYD,” and it felt like writing in a journal.

I began taking pictures of sunrises and sending them to him. Raphael communicated with me through the November Girl T-shirts on Facebook, and I enjoyed the attention.

The video “Smile” by Lil Duval featuring Snoop Dogg inspired me to come up with “Living My Best Life.” Here are my thoughts: No one can tell you that you’re not living your best life because true happiness comes from living the way you want, loving who you want, and cherishing what you love.
